Organize around what you make

Pick one or two activities you do often. Keep those materials together in a bin or on a shelf. Store occasional supplies separately so everyday tools are easy to reach.

Use containers after you sort

Try existing boxes first. Measure the space and the supplies before buying organizers. Clear bins help you see stock; opaque bins can make a shared room feel calmer.

Make cleanup part of the setup

Put a scrap-paper container and a small wastebasket close to your workspace. Keep a tray for unfinished projects so you can move them without dismantling everything.

Choose access thoughtfully

Store sharp tools, adhesives, and small pieces out of reach of young children. Give children a separate supervised set of appropriate materials. A creative space works best when everyone knows which supplies are theirs.
